Emma Moskalyk is a 17 year old grade 12 student at Port Credit Secondary School. She has studied the violin with her parents, Sophie and Myron Moskalyk since the age of 4, and has continued to be actively involved in musical endeavours of different types. She is a part of the Regional Strings Program at PCSS, as the associate concert mistress in the Chamber Strings group. She has competed in and won many awards in various music festivals. Additionally, Emma is an active volunteer in the community, organizing concerts for complex continuing care patients in hospitals and for residents in retirement communities. She has also used her background in music, volunteering as a violin mentor for young students at a summer music camp. Outside of music, she enjoys figure skating and swimming, and uses her passion for the sports to volunteer as an assistant swim instructor and assistant figure skating coach.
