Program notes for July 9/10 concert

Don’t miss the final concert of the Conductor Showcase season!

Our fourth guest conductor and music director candidate is Pratik Gandhi, whose original concert weekend was postponed due to the temporary closing of the Oakville Centre back in February due to Covid. We thank Pratik for his patience, and are grateful to all of the musicians who will continue practising and rehearsing into the early summer in order to complete this season’s exciting series.

We are pleased to welcome cellist Kendra Grittani, performing the Haydn Cello Concerto in D Major.

Also on the program: “Whisky Jack” by British Columbian composer Leslie Opatřil, and Brahms Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Op. 98. More details are in the program notes.
